I caught your HHI episode while home in the States for Christmas vacation. I've just browsed your blog and felt the need to write to say--I relate so much of what you've gone through as an expat, only I live in Italy! Also, it's so interesting to note French and Italian social mores and cultural quirks aren't very different from one another! Yet both are often quite different than we are accustomed to (see: friendship, dinner party etiquette etc)
